"The AMCA Insurance brokers who deal with AMCA riders insurance have informed us that they are no longer able to pay the weekly benefits for time off work due to injury caused at an AMCA event. We are not alone, other organisations are also in the same position. Personal Accident Cover for Competitors has therefore been changed and will no longer include weekly benefits for temporary total disablement (i.e. whilst off work following an injury at an AMCA event). The Insurance premium for Capital Benefits is compulsory and covers
i) Accidental Death=£5000.00
ii) Permanent total loss of eye or eyes=£5000.00
iii) Loss of limb or limbs=£5000.00
iv) Permanent total disablement=£30000.00
A new lump sum payment of £2000 will be paid to any competitor confined to hospital, following an accident in an AMCA authorised event, for a period of 4 weeks or more as a direct result of injury caused at an AMCA authorised event. Riders are strongly recommended to make individual arrangements to find weekly benefits insurance cover for competing in AMCA events.
Full details of Premiums can be obtained from our Insurance Brokers. Contact the AMCA Office for further information.
