BRIEF HISTORY OF CLUB

Xmoor Enduro Club Ltd was formed in 2001 by a few like minded riders & organisers interested in running good quality hare & hound type events with a clear and simple guidelines. The clubs objectives would be to run the club by volunteer committee members for its members, with a view of ploughing the proceeds from events back into the club so that hopefully their events would become better organised and a quality ride.

The clubs constitution was drawn up to state that the club would try to run with the best interests of the sport in mind. Within this outline the club carries out noise testing and now runs all of its events on trials tyres to minimise the impact on the environment and show respect for other people affected by our sport.

Xmoor Enduro Club could not have picked a more unsuitable year to start running, as 2001 was the year our country was affected by foot & mouth. With a lot of hard work and sensible persuasion we managed to run 3 events following the correct guidelines set to deal with the disease.

2002 saw the club run 6 events with 3 brand new venues which was a very exciting year but also very exhausting. The committee then decided that 6 was a little ambitious and felt that 5 events was more manageable.

2003 saw the club devise a structured grading system to try & deal with the problem of people riding in the wrong class and push up riders that have been consistently finishing well throughout our series.

For 2004 the club ran a 5 round series with one new venue that showed alot of potential for future events. The club is run completely by volunteers and is always in need of fresh blood to keep its wheels turning, so if anyone is able to and genuinely interested in the clubs future please make contact with us and we will put your help to excellent use.

For 2005 the club ran 4 series rounds, at Huntsham, Combe Sydenham, Bratton Court and Rifton Barton, with the new  rider grading system working well.

2006 Saw the club run a 4 round series and later in the year held an additional event at Middleton Court which included a youth race in the morning which was extremely well supported.

2007 The club ran a 4 round series for adult and youth  with a new venue

At Storridge Wood which was the only dry  event of the year, an extra event was held in November at Middleton Court which was another very wet event All club members are looking forward to a dry 2008.

2008 The club ran a 4 round series for adult and youth racers the venues were Combe Sydenham, Storridge Wood, Bratton Court and Rifton Barton

The weather was much better than 2007 and the final event of the year at Rifton Barton was also round 3 of the AMCA British Enduro Championship.
